Dear Parents,
Huge thanks go out to all involved in the Halloween Dance/Party! I know it is a big undertaking and I also know that the kids truly love it!
Thank you for all those who came out for conferences! It was great to see everyone and reconnect. I promise to stay in touch and know that if there are concerns or questions I hope you feel you can approach me at any time. I had 94% turn out rate for middle school (that's about 78 families) and probably another 50 families who stopped by that had elementary students. I feel privileged to have the opportunity to talk to everyone! I am sorry if I missed seeing you!
This week:
Tuesday: Students may dress in costume, but it must be school appropriate. No spraying of hair, etc... at school. We will "parade" around the school towards the end of the day and then have a "teacher costume" contest in the gym.
Wednesday: We have mass at 8:45 in the church. This is a Holy Day of Obligation, so please join us if you are able.
Friday: We begin our Food Drive for the month of November.
Please send in your permission slip if your child is going on the magazine Kalahari trip.
Have a great week!!!
Many blessings,
Kim

Dear Parents
We sure got lulled into a beautiful Saturday and the coin flipped today! Rainy and dreary!!
Quarter 1 is over! Can you believe we are through 1/4 of the year already? I am struggling to believe it, myself! Here's what the week holds...
Monday and Tuesday are full, regular days....
Wednesday we have church in the morning and it is a half day of school. The kids are released at 11:30. Conferences begin at 1pm and will last until 8pm (with a dinner break around 5pm). Thursday, conferences begin at 9:30 and last until 5 (with a lunch break around noon). All middle school and specials teachers will be in the gym and it is a come-when-you-can type set up. ALL middle school students MUST attend the conference with his/her parent. It is a great time to visit about upcoming curriculum, set goals for the upcoming quarter and talk about how things have been going in the classroom. I am looking forward to seeing you all!
Many blessings,
Kim

Dear Parents,
Here's the plan for the upcoming week!
Wednesday is our every other weekly prayer service with Fr. Randy. The 7th and 8th graders meet from 9:30-9:45 in the chapel. He has helped explain several of the Church's traditions along with helping us all learn to quiet ourselves and experience more meaningful prayer.
Thursday the cell reproduction projects are due at the beginning of class. Each group will perform their presentation for the class, whether it be live or recorded. I hope to post them all on here next week, so keep your eye out for that post.
Friday is the All Diocesan Mass at the Alliant Energy Center. We leave at 9:30 and will return mid-afternoon. ALL STUDENTS MUST WEAR THEIR FULL UNIFORM. There will be a lunch provided.
Friday is also the end of the quarter. We have conferences next week!!! I am looking forward to seeing you all either Wednesday afternoon, evening or sometime before 5pm on Thursday.
Many blessings,
Kim

Dear Parents,
I hope everyone had an enjoyable weekend! This past Friday, Enqi left our class. He was a great addition to our class and really brought a lot to our environment. We will miss him! The kids signed a pillowcase for him and made all kinds of cards, some even with Mandarin on it. Enqi's home address was given to the kids, as well as his email. We hope to keep in touch with him over the year and that he will rejoin us next year in 8th grade.
The 7th graders are working hard on their cell reproduction projects. It has been very fun to watch the creativity come through in such different ways. The due date for the project is Thursday, October 19th at the beginning of class. We will watch their productions that day, and truthfully, I can't wait!
There is mass this week at 8:45. Please join us if you are able! Picture retake is on Thursday.
Many blessings,
Kim

Dear Parents,
Sure hope it was a restful weekend! Crazy how these 2 days seem to go so much quicker than the 5 days before those 2 days....
This week's verse: Philippians 2:14 "Do everything without grumbling and arguing."
We start our next science project this week. It is a group project and one that makes all the creative juices flow! I can't wait to see what these kids develop! The content is MITOSIS: cell reproduction. The due date will be determined once we get started.
Make it a great week!
Many blessings,
Kim
