Dear Parents,

What a WARM weekend!  I sure hope that everyone found a way to keep cool.  This week will also be a warm one, so I suggest sending a water bottle with your child just to avoid the chance of dehydration.

Magazine orders can still be sent in tomorrow (Monday) and they will be counted in the grand total.  I believe they will also count towards earning the Kalahari trip.

This week the 7th graders have the option of turning in all 7 of their science article reviews early.  All 7 are due by Wednesday at the end of the day.  If he/she turns them in, he/she will only be required to do 6 article reviews next quarter.  The "real" due date is October 11th.  Remember I will not accept any late work.

The cells were turned in on Thursday and wow!!!  I was am so proud.  Once I get all the pictures taken, I will post them on here, so be on the lookout!  :)

Have a great week and stay cool!
Many blessings,
Kim

September 18, 2017

Dear Parents,

I hope it was a great weekend for everyone.  It was nice to see so many smiling faces at church!

This week's verse is: "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and always" Hebrews 13:8  What a blessing to know that we can ALWAYS count on His love for us every single minute of every single day!

The students are working hard on the cell project.  The project, key, connections and self-assessment are due at the end of class on Thursday, September 21st.  I have been reminding them and will continue to remind them all week.  Please help them know I expect to receive it all on time.

This week is a prayer service led by Mr. Beisser on Wednesday morning, in place of mass.  Fr. Randy and Fr. Allam will be in the Dells this week.  Remember that Wednesdays are always uniform days, regardless of the type of worship activity we have planned for the mornings on Wednesday.

Have a wonderful week and know that I am always around if you have comments or questions!
Many blessings,
Kim

September 11, 2017

Dear Parents,

As you will hear from your child later tonight, we have a new student in our class!!!  His name is Enqi (pronounced en-key) Wei and he is coming to us from Houston via a stent in Florida.  We just met him on Friday so we are excited to get to know him better in the coming days!

Our verse for the week is Colossians 3:23 "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord not for people."  We will reflect on this verse throughout the week, it would be great if you incorporated it into your discussions at home.  These verses are being used to bring us closer to God and help us reflect on His amazing example in our life.

On the same note, we will not have mass every week this year.  YES UNIFORMS ARE STILL REQUIRED.  Fr. Randy will be meeting with the groups in small numbers on Wednesday mornings for about 15 minutes to try and build a better understanding of prayer in his/her life.  I am very anxious to see how this will play out with the students.  We hope to eventually incorporate Adoration into this time, as well.

The students were assigned the cell project on Wednesday of last week.  I look forward to seeing their individual creativity come through by his/her design and creation of the cell.  Stay tuned for pictures when they are complete.

Absolutely great first 2 weeks!  Can't say enough about how great this group is so far!
Many blessings,
Kim

September 5, 2017

Dear Parents,

I hope that everyone felt great about the 1st week of school!  I feel like we are going to have a fantastic year with lots of learning and laughing.

This week's Bible verse is: Matthew 5:16 "Let your light shine before all, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in Heaven."

The 7th graders will be assigned their cell projects this week.  The due date is to be determined, but will be sometime the week of the 18th.  Along with the cell creation, students will need to turn in a key, a "connections explanation" and a self-assessment.  Plenty of class time will be given to complete the entire project.

Have a spectacular week!  Know you can always reach out if you have questions, comments or concerns!  ms.maxson@st-dennisschool.org; 608-334-0198 or kmaxson1@gmail.com are all ways to contact me.

Take care and many blessings,
Kim
